New plastic continent discovered!

A new continent (also called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch) has been discovered in the Pacific Ocean! It's a continent made of plastic (???), twice the size of the USA.

Yes, all the old plastic in the world that has found its way into the ocean, has drifted to the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Somehow the world's ocean currents have carried it to the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

Plastic is not biodegradable, so it has accumulated there over the last 60 years to form a continent the size of Europe.

Scary, but true!!!
