Model airplanes

You can try to build models to look at. These are generally replicas of real airplanes, usually World War II type aircraft. There was, and still is, a quasi romantic flavor to the air battles of that war.

When I was a kid I collected books on the main aces on both sides. They were household names. Of course, the main impulse was to build their P-51īs and Me-109īs.

Then for others itīs a question of building flying machines. Even if there can be a mixture of flying planes that look like the originals, many of these flying models no longer look like anything, just themselves.

Mostly are radio controlled, an innovation I did not see when a kid.

In those days flying models were just controlled by long wires that made them fly in circles.

The good old days!
